13-ish days til 2011

Ok, so i cheated with the photo memory thing and i have excuses,

(1) because I'm a med student and (2) because i'm forgetful :)

I'm excited for a new year ahead and i really hope i don't get setbacks this time around....Anyhoo in remembrance of 2010, Here's what i have left:

Day 17 - Drunk Me

Wait a minute, but i don't get drunk hahaha.... er anymore :P

AND i don't have drunk pictures, i take drunk pictures of other people. I think.

Day 16 - Party

Here's the thing, thanks to med school I don't go to parties as often. And the last party i went to I arrived really really late.

So here's a picture of one of the last parties i went to, a friend's birthday celeb at Izakaya, not necessarily the last, but the last one i had a picture in haha. :)

Seriously though, i gotta pay homage to my dad, who's one of a kind really :) He's a great friend, a food trip buddy, a pastor and photographer, and yet he's my dad :) And I love him, and he'll always be the first man i loved :)

For Cyndee, i miss our all day girly dates with spa shopping and never-ending kwentos, i hope you're doing ok and i'll see you soon yay!

For Karlo, can't wait for a non-study date! :)

I have so many favorite films that i can't really pick just one... So this movie is actually one i want to watch again because i no longer remember the story.

I remember fragments and moments because apparently i watched this as a little girl, and i'm hoping i get to see it again.

It's the birthday of my special someone today.

And i'm a gift giver. Haha. I went all out shopping yesterday for gifts that had to have meaning :) And i'm so grateful that i pulled that one off. :)

Another year's ending, which is why i'm doing this photo memory thing. And this year i'm still taken :) who would've thought i could do this commitment thing haha :)

I guess what changed is that i fell in love with my best friend, who already knew my faults, my bitchyness and my weirdness... haha :) And yet we still manage to surprise each other everyday, falling in love with other things that we didn't know about each other. I get it, it's a journey and i'm enjoying it even if there are bumps along the way, and i'm glad i'm on this adventure with him. :)

P.S. I'm skipping day 8 - my favorite band/ musician cause i dont have any :P

Voyage of the Dawn Treader - Day 3 of Photo Memories

When the facebook thing about cartoon profile pics started (to prevent childhood violence, which i hope was true and that i really helped) i actually had a hard time picking a picture, the first cartoon i picked was fushigi yuugi (curious play) which i watched when i was already in high school and recently i finally settled on a cartoon i watched as a kid.

When I explained my first choice for a cartoon profile pic to my dad, he said it's probably 'cause my childhood was spent reading books instead of watching tv, yes the closet nerd in me. And just a few hours ago, i watched a big part of my childhood come to life on screen, Narnia's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, my favorite book ever as a child, probably even until now.

As a kid, i would hide in my closet wishing i'd end up in narnia or stare at paintings with weird boats even if i couldn't swim. It was an escape for me when i felt scared or sad. Growing up and rereading all 7 chronicles of Narnia, i remember what Aslan said to Lucy and Edmund when they left Narnia, that he was called many names and that in our world they had to get to know him too.

I think I know my Aslan, which ended my hiding in closets and staring at paintings. So when i get scared, sad and i feel like escaping, i take my rest in the "Aslan" of our world. I still read the Voyage of the Dawn Treader from time to time and it still makes me happy. And even if the movie was not close to how i imagined that adventure in my head, i still loved every single moment of it. The dufflepods, Coriakin, Ramandu's island, and Eustace. It was like I met with my childhood friends again :)

Anyway, Day 3 - A photo that makes me happy :)
